The Professional and Technical Communication (PTC) Program Assistant bridges between work on the undergraduate technical and professional degree program and the PTC writing program, which serves ~5,000 students a year in three different courses.

  • Assisted with planning and leading monthly professional development sessions.
  • Updated PTC standardized online shells, modules, syllabus, and calendar.
  • Answered queries from instructors related to teaching and learning.
  • Assisted with planning and leading orientations in Fall and Spring terms for all instructors  (~50) in the program.
  • Performed program evaluation on assignments and student learning.
  • Analyzed programmatic data to inform curricular changes.
  • Created in collaboration with the administrative team instructor and student facing pedagogical materials.
  • Updated curriculum for ENC 2210, 3246, 3250.
  • Maintained an online repository of course materials and instructor resources called the Community of Practice (CoP).
  • Edited the 10th edition of the PTC textbook: A rhetorical approach to workplace writing (10th ed.).

  • Created USF Writes feedback infographic 
  • Assisted in development of USF Writes instructor and student facing pedagogical documentation.
  • Created marketing materials for the PTC major and minor in the form of flyers and infographics.
  • Collaborated on integration and alignment of program outcomes, course outcomes, and  assignment outcomes across the undergraduate degree program.
  • Created Grant Writing (ENC 4403) and Writing Technologies (ENC 3370) courses for submission for institutional review for high quality online courses (QM/ Innovative Education).
    • Created classroom exercises for both face to face and virtual spaces.
    • Developed course outcomes in relation to program outcomes.
    • Collaborated with PTC faculty and innovative education to design major assignments.
  • Assembled curricula from all PTC major courses to create downloadable course collections as instructor resources.
